2 Months

Hailey is now 12 lbs. and 4 oz and 22 inches long. She is growing like a weed everyday. Avery and Pete love her so much and are often more interested in seeing her than seeing me! Whenever I pick them up from MDO or a nap, they always look for Hailey and call out "Ba-bee"!



She is sleeping through the night and smiling. The crying colic is going much better - but she still has her spells. We're trying a couple of different things, but the peditrician said that this might just be her way. Maybe she figures it is the only way to get some attention in this house!

And yes, this post time is correct - 4:30 . . . insomnia again, unfortunately.

Our "beach"

We loved our old neighborhood, but one of the things we always missed was that we didn't have any amenities, like a pool or playground. So when we moved that was at the top of our list . . . and we really lucked out. Our neighborhood pool just opened and it is more like resort than a regular pool. We took the kids this past weekend. They didn't really get in too far because it was still a little chilly. I didn't get too far in either! And yes, six weeks after giving birth I poured myself into a swimsuit. I won't say I was too happy about it, but did I ever need some sun!

This is what I found I came back into the playroom after changing one of a million diapers I change every day AFTER chasing my oldest daughter around, because she keeps tearing off her diaper and running around naked. I didn't get that on video though . . .

Results of insomnia . . .

It's 3 am and I can't sleep. I have loads of laundry to fold, but here I am sorting pics on the computer and posting blogs. Oh well - my misery at having insomnia is your gain because you can see all these adorable new pictures!

Big Pete and I couldn't believe that they were holding hands when we turned around. It's just one of those times that melts your heart.

Avery has become such a "mommy". Here she is trying to comfort her little sissy. She loves to try to give Hailey the paci when she's crying. Sometimes a little gentler than other times . . .

Ahh - pure joy in a sandbox. This is Avery and Pete's new favorite toy . . .we haven't gotten to use it too much due to all the rain and the horrible mosquitos!

Easter, Part II

I just got these fabulous pictures from my dad and I am so jealous! Why does everyone else get great pics with my kiddos and I get "drama queen" fits!! hee hee




Oh boy Avery was lovin on her grandpa, she is totally into giving hugs and blowing kisses now. I try to have Avery and Pete hug after they have a "spat", Avery loves it, but Pete . . .ever the boy . . .usually he just swats her away. Hmm . . .guess we've got to teach him a few things yet. . . at least he'll give his momma a hug!

Playing with the cousins

Last weekend Pete's family came over and we got to have a playdate with their cousins, Avalynn and Kylynn. They had the best time running and playing in the backyard. Baby Hailey got in on the action too! Avalynn just wanted to hold and touch her! She is such a good big cousin!

Smiles and Sleep

I may survive after all . . . Hailey is sleeping through the night! She wakes every once and awhile but I just rock her a bit and give her back the paci and she seems to go back to sleep. Yippee! She also started doing the "little" beginning smiles. Now they are still fairly infrequent but I'll take it. I think they start to smile when you need it the most.

Bean Bag Chairs

Aren't bean bag chairs the greatest? Avery and Pete seem to like them at MDO, too. Making it to 2 every afternoon has been tough, so by the time I go pick them up they are sacked out! Today I peeked in on them and saw they were resting in the bean bag chairs. You can't see Pete but he is the lump in front of Avery. Avery started crying as soon as she saw me. I think she was telling me to drop the camera and pick her up!
