Hailey and Luke

Hailey loved on her little friend Luke this past weekend. They are only a month apart and cute as can be together! Mommy and Daddy had fun visiting with their Luke's parents too! It's so nice to be able to talk to people who are going through many of the same things you are!

Mom of the year award

In hindsight I guess I shouldn't have given them non washable marker to play with while I was trying to clean house. I DID have them at the table, so the only place that the marker got was on them. Avery wasn't quite as messy as Pete and wasn't nearly as cooperative with the pictures.

A change for our men

I arrived home on Sunday to find my son had something missing - his hair! I was M-A-D to say the least. Still a little miffed about it because we have a ton of things coming up and I loved his little boy hair.

Well Daddy Pete, I guess, didn't know how to say he was sorry. So on Monday morning he came walking out of the bathroom with a completely shaved head also.

Pumpkins

So I am coming off of a self imposed "no technology" fast (got the idea from Shannon - thanks!) over the past Friday, Saturday, and (err) part of Sunday. I just felt like lately I have been spending way too much time neglecting the house, hobbies, ect. It seemed that everyday my children were occupied or asleep I was on the computer or watching TV. So, ahem, I decided to change my attitude . . .and you know what, it was great! We played Scrabble, I made bows, I worked on finishing decorating the kids room, we went to the pumpkin patch, we carved pumpkins and so much more! So, I'm going to work on being a better self motivator and pull my self from my lovely computer more!



We went to a local pumpkin patch, more a field, but you know, we live in South Texas. There really aren't a whole lot of pretty pumpkin patches around here! But, it was great anyway. The kiddos loved getting pulled around in the cart and trying to pick up wierd and heavy pumpkins and all the proceeds went to a good cause!

Girls Weekend

The girls and I spent the weekend at my parents, while Pete squared went to Austin to visit family. It is fun to split the kids up and be able to spend more alone time with each. Avery and Pete were so cute when they saw each other on Sunday. They waved at each other and said "Hi", and then started running around playing together . . .so sweet!

Hailey's big night out

So, Pete and I dropped the kiddos (Avery and Pete) off at Nana and Papa's for a big weekend in the country and we decided to go get some dinner with our one child! As we were driving I reminded Pete of the fabulous mexican restuarant we had previously gotten take out with our friends Emily and Dirk. We both thought that was a great idea, but I didn't have my cell phone and felt horrible about eating at a restuarant that my friend lives so close to and not calling her. But in the end, hunger won over, and we decided to go on to the restuarant. I kept telling Pete "We are SOO going to run into Emily and Dirk!", and he kept saying "Let's just go by their house and see if they want to go" and I said I would rather DIE than "pop in" on someone on a Friday night.

So, Pete, Hailey and I had just sat down with our margaritas (Hailey's a milk sans the margarita) when who do we see walk in the door . . .Emily, Dirk and their brood! I ran over to them, invited them to join us and we had the best time! Hailey and Campbell just loved each other and we just know they are going to be the best of friends (since they are only a few months apart!) They just loved on each other and kept laughing and touching each others faces!

I love "impromptu" meetings like that and couldn't have asked for a better surprise from one of my best friends!! It was a great start to our "kid free" weekend!
